Decree in the Nowe Miasto between the Kalisz elders and other elders from the Greater Poland land
Rabbis at the council in Nowe Miasto nad Wartą ruled against the financial grievances of Kalisz Jews towards other communities of the land, accepting their accounts only partially. They decided that despite fulfilling their obligations due to the urgent payment of treasury assignments, the Kalisz Jews should still cover some of the obligations of the land (commission for the Jesuits and one assignment for 2000 zlotys). All the obligations of the Jews of the land to Kalisz were to wait until the next council at which they were to be deducted from the receivables of the Kalisz Jews. The rabbis decided that the Kalisz Jews should be paid 500 zlotys in exchange for waiting for the repayment of the land’s obligations.
